The La Crosse Athletics came to "The Park" in Coon Valley to revenge their early season
loss to the Blues. And what a game it was. Sam Henriksen started on the mound for CCV
and pitched well through 6 innings as the Blues staked him to a 6-2 lead. But, from then
on it was a battle back and forth as 10 runs were scored in the last 3 innings to make the
game a real adventure and give GM Burt Ekern a few more gray hairs. Adam Husing led
the Blues at the plate, going 3-4 with 2 doubles. Adam Wershofen, Kevin Wagner and Josh
Schultz all had 2 hits for CCV. Wershofen came on in relief for Henriksen in the 7th and
went the rest of the way, picking up the win. The Blues remain perfect at 6-0 in the MVL.

The Blues are riding the wave of a 5 game winning streak and hope to continue their success on Saturday
as they travel to Marshfield to face the Marshfield Chaparals and Schofield. After a big MVL win on Friday
night as La Crosse, would the Blues be able to come up big on the road?? Behind strong starting pitching
from Andy Hoff and Evan Buhr, CCV picked up two wins and continue hot as they get ready for two MVL
games on Sunday against Norwalk and Elroy. In the first game against Marshfield, the Blues came away
with a 5-2 win, Andy Hoff picked up the victory with Andy Russell and Mike Tolvstad in relief. Russell and
Bobby Rasch both had doubles for the Blues.
In game two against Schofield, the Blues trailed 3-2 going into the top of the 7th. Evan Buhr gave CCV
6 strong innings, but could the Blues rally for the win? With 2 outs and nobyody on base in the top of the
7th, Adam Wershofen doubled to drive in the tying run and a Sam Henriksen single drove in the winning
run. Lefty Mike Tolvstad pitched a scoreless bottom of the 7th to pick up the save. Henriksen, Adam

Maybe it was a letdown after the big NBC Tourney win on Thursday night... Maybe it was the Bangor
pitching... Maybe it was all of the called 3rd strikes taken by CCV batters... Whatever the reason, the
result was the first league loss for the Blues 7-6 in 12 innings. CCV batters looked out-of-sinc at the plate
and managed only 6 hits off Redbirds pitching while Blues pitchers surrendered 13 hits and 4 solo hr's.
Evan Buhr started for the Blues and didn't make it past the 2nd inning. Mike Tolvstad came on in relief of
Bhhr in the 3rd inning, Corey Geary relieved Tolvstad in the 7th and Sam Henriksen relieved Geary in the
8th and went the rest of the way, picking up the loss. Bangor's Ryan Tenner drove in the Scott Rima with
a bad-bounce double in the bottom of the 12th inning for the winning run. The Blues hope to regroup on
Sunday, as they travel to Sparta to face the Miller's in a 3:00 MVL game.

Strong pitching, timely hitting and excellent defense propelled the Chaseburg Coon Valley Blues into the
"Final Four" of the NBC State Tournament. The Blues started the day with Drew White on the mound
against a young, good Menasha Macs team. The Blues sealed the win by scoring 5 times in the last 3
innings with the key play being a hustling infield hit by Corey Geary with Andy Russell scoring from 2nd
with great base running and a slight lapse by the Macs 1st baseman. Adam Wershofen came on in relief
of White in the 5th and preserved the win.
In the second game against the Appleton Legends, CCV scored first on a Adam Wershofen homerun in
the bottom of the 1st. The Blues added 3 insurance runs in the 4th inning. Sam Henriksen took the mound
and gave the Blues 5 good innings with Wershofen again coming on in relief in the 6th to lock up the win.
On the day, Henriksen was 3-4 with a double and Wershofen had a double and a homerun. CCV returns to
action on Sunday the 13th, hosting the Austin Bue Sox in a doubleheader starting at 1:00.

What are the results when you score a total of 3 runs and have a total of 5 hits in a doubleheader??
Fortunately for the Chaseburg-Coon Valley Blues, the answer is a split... The Austin Blue Sox traveled
to Coon Valley to face the Blues on Sunday and their pitching shut down CCV bats. Austin took the first
game 4-2, as the Blues were hitless until the 7th inning when they scored their two runs on back-to-back
doubles by Josh Schultz and Andy Russell. Evan Buhr went the distance on the mound for the Blues.
In game two, CCV bats were shutout until the 6th inning. Fortunately, Andy Hoff was also able to keep
the Blue Sox bats under control. Andy Russell came through again for the Blues as his walk-off homerun
in the bottom of the 7th gave the Blues the split. The Blues are idle until Saturday, when they travel to
Sauk City for the NBC Final Four...

The Blues traveled to Sauk City to compete in the NBC Final 4 tournament. Their opponent in the 1st
semi-final game was the Kewaskum Athletics. The outcome was an 8-4 loss. CCV's usually dependable
defense committed two errors and even though the Blues had 12 hits, the hits were not sharp and they
did not come at the right time. Josh Schultz led off the 6th with a double and Corey Geary led off the 7th
with a triple. Both runners did not score as CCV failed to get the key hits. Sam Hendriksen started on the
mound for the Blues with Drew White coming on in relief in the 4th. Leading hitters for the Blues were Sam
Henriksen (2-4), Josh Schultz (2-4, 2b), Adam Husing (2-4), Corey Geary (2-3, 3b).

Sparta Miller came to "The Park" in Coon Valley to face the Chaseburg-Coon Valley Blues in a big MVL
game on Sunday night. The Blues lead the MVL with a 10-1 record and have a 2 game lead over second
place La Crescent. Would the Blues be up to the challenge?? It was a strange game... CCV pitching held
Sparta to 6 hits. CCV bats picked up 10 hits off Miller's starting pitcher Ben La Fluer. Unfortunately, the
Blues defense again struggled with 3 key errors and Sparta Miller went home with a huge 5-4 victory. Andy
Hoff started on the mound for the Blues and pitched well. Leading hitters for CCV were Josh Schultz (3-4)
and Kevin Wagner (2-4, 2b). CCV has a busy schedule coming up, starting with a game at home against
Norwalk on Wednesday night and then playing 5 more games in the next 5 days.

his record to 6-2. Buhr received good support as the Blues played errorless defense and had 10 hits. Adam
Wershofen, Matt Hoff and Josh Schultz each had 2 hits. The win put CCV in sole possession of 1st place,
with La Crescent in 2nd place, 1/2 game back.

The La Crescent Cardinals dominated the Chaseburg-Coon Valley Blues in the final MVL game of the
regular season for both teams. The domination took the form of both pitching and hitting as CCV was held
to one run on three hits and the Cardinals pounded out 13 hits off Blues pitchers Drew White and Andy
Russell. White took the 8-1 loss, as the win gave La Crescent a tie with CCV in the regular season, both
with 13-3 records. Adam Wershofen had a triple and Kevin Wagner a double for the Blues. The Blues
return to action on Saturday in the 1st round of the MVL Tournament hosting a game at 1:30 at "The

regional game in Osseo against the Osseo Merchants. The Blues came away with a 10-inning 3-2 victory,
but not without surviving 5 errors and numerous scoring chances that brought nothing. Nick Jones started
for CCV and pitched 9 masterful innings, giving up only 2 hits and no earned runs. Adam Wershofen came
on in relief of Jones in the top of the 10th and picked up the win. Sam Henriksen, Andy Russell and Bobby
Raasch all had two hits for the Blues who improved their season record to 34-11. The Blues now face the
winner of the Tilden-Merrill game, which is going to be played at noon on Saturday. That game will be
